Caricom debate acerca del clima y el desarrollo sustentable en la Semana de la Energía

CARICOM Energy Week launched

Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, on Monday launched activities to mark CARICOM Energy Week which is being observed Region-wide from 16-22 November 2014. The theme for the week is ‘Achieving Climate and Economic Resilience through Sustainable Development’.

In remarks at the ceremony held at the VINLEC Lowmans Bay Power Plant in Kingstown, Prime Minister Gonsalves said that St. Vincent and the Grenadines had the potential to become one of the first countries worldwide to have electricity provided completely by green energy.

Among the other speakers who made presentations at the launch were Director, Energy Unit, Ellsworth Dacon; Representative, Clinton Global Initiative Libby DeLucia; Chairman VINLEC Board of Directors Rene Baptiste and Programme Manager of Energy, CARICOM Secretariat Dr. Devon Gardner.
