Mexico-Ayotzinapa-Protest-01

Parents of missing students lead a march through Mexico City during the ‘Global Day of Action for Ayotzinapa’ Wednesday, October 23, 2014.

The march was held to demand answers following the killing of three students and the disappearance of 43 more in the city of Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, which is South West of Mexico City. The students have been missing since September 26, 2014 and the local mayor and his wife are accused of ordering the kidnappings and killings. The local police are also accused of working with the Guerreros Unidos cartel in the crimes.

Since September 26, many mass graves have been located in the area surrounding the city, yet none of the remains found match the students.

Colleges and Universities all across Mexico declared a strike for September 22 and 23, 2014 and protests in support of the missing students were held all over the world.
