Chastanet could name cabinet next week
Prime Minister Allen Chastanet could name his cabinet sometime next week, United Workers Party (UWP) executive, Nancy Charles said on Thursday.
Even though a list has been circulating via social media with a few persons names,Charles told Radio Caribbean International (RCI) that the new cabinet of ministers has not yet been confirmed.
The UWP executive said the swearing-in ceremony may be held at the Phillip Marcellin grounds in Vieux Fort.
Reason for this is, Chastanet wants to use the occasion as an indication to the people of the South that his government will keep its promise to give equal attention to that area and will work hard to improve it.
Charles also disclosed that party candidates and executive members met on Wednesday evening for the first time, to discuss plans for the new government. However, but naming of the cabinet was discussed.
The UWP won 11 of the 17 constituency seats in the June 6 general election.
