The Forty-Second Annual General Meeting of the Regional Nursing Body will be held at the CARICOM Secretariat beginning on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The four-day meeting will start with a formal ceremony at 9:00 a.m. in the Secretariat’s Large Conference Room.

Assistant Secretary-General of CARICOM, Directorate of Human and Social Development, Dr. Douglas Slater, and Chair of the Regional Nursing Body and Chief Nursing Officer of Antigua and Barbuda, Mrs Elnora Warner, will speak at the ceremony. Minister in the Ministry of Health, Guyana, Dr. Karen Cummings, will declare the meeting open.

The objectives of the meeting are to review the current status of preparations for the October 2015 Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR) and give guidance on any outstanding issues related to the CXC-managed RENR over its first year. Participants will also approve the way forward for a new Strategic Plan for Nursing in CARICOM and will receive updates on current areas of Regional and global health policy of particular relevance to the nursing community.

It is also expected that officers for the Regional Nursing Body for 2015-2016 will be elected.
